I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and I think that I was always into dressing kind of preppy at whatever the popular store was. I can never pass up an opportunity to dress up; it makes you feel really good about yourself. Big fan of sweaters and cardigans especially right now – it’s so cold in the Midwest! I’ve always been inspired by feeling good and comfortable in what you're wearing. If I see someone on the street wearing something eye catching, or even in magazines or clothing ads -, I want to immediately grab an outfit that is similar. I don’t think you can have too many button downs, and I don’t think you can have too many shoes, or pants. Looking good and feeling good in what you are wearing, can make or break your day. It’s an art form, a way to express yourself and give you confidence.

My look is definitely influenced by my region. Partly it’s out of necessity because the weather in the Midwest is quite random. Sometimes it’s cold and wet, and other days it’s dry and hot. Layers are key. And it’s my signature thing. It makes it easier to take some things on or off to match the weather. With cotton, you can layer and breathe in it as well, so that’s essential in the Midwest.

What inspires me most is outfits from the 80-90's. I am also influenced by other people's style from Lookbook & clothing websites. Most importantly, the inspiration of my cotton style is making sure I add my own personality and style into the outfit. -

My style now is my own, and eclectic without being stereotypically Midwestern. But I’m happy to be an ambassador of the Midwest, in my fashion sense being personal. I love seeing people bringing themselves to what they wear.
